A collection of Interpretative photos, educational resources, and thoughts about things. I acknowledge that I am a non-Indigenous Canadian living on the traditional lands of the Indigenous people who are the original stewards of this land. I hope to be guided by their respect for the land and I call on my society to respect the signed treaties between our nations.

A quotation from Penny Kittle on teaching the skill of writing
Penny writes: "If you aren't as driven to teach and nurture writers as writing demands, then you'll lose kids who need all of the scaffolding that brings the power of writing well within their reach. Organization leads struggling writers to competence. Writing teachers must be writers and they must be master teachers. When the two come together, kids learn fast... All kids learn with patience, empathy, and good instruction. But the instruction has to come during the process of creating the piece, not in polishing the product, or nothing changes."

Wagon Train of hay going to Teeswater Train Station - unknown year
This photo is from Jim Whytock's collection of old photos he collected over the years on the history of Teeswater, Ontario.
This photo shows a row of horse drawn sleds carrying hay. The note on the back says, "shipping hay by train." and the photo shows the column of hay stopped on main street in Teeswater apparently going in the direction of the train station.
